Dear Community,

the long-awaited moment is finally here. We are very proud to announce that our sidechain protocol is live and functional. It was a long journey until here and we can surely say that without support from our community this would not have been possible. Therefore, before we continue, first of all to our community:

Protocol Status: Now live with the first use case and customers from >300 cities

The sidechain is ready and we have launched the first sidechain with our Energy Use Case. This sidechain uses the real commercial, production data from customers in over 300 cities — as it should be for a commercial mainnet.

For now, this sidechain is synchronizing periodically to the Ethereum Ropsten mainnet. We are confident about the sidechain itself but want to use the next 10 days to also stress-test the mainnet synchronization and the Ethereum Ropsten network is well suitable for this. If the test period is successful, we will migrate to the Ethereum main network and later offer integration into Tomochain and Fantom main networks.

Download and launch your own sidechain based on now open-sourced Lition tools

We open-sourced our smart contracts to ensure a wide audience can benefit from the Lition solution in order to attract as many use cases as possible. The Lition solution was designed to form a technical foundation for mass market blockchain use cases, and they are now available to the public.

In the meantime, there are several interesting things that we would like to introduce to you:

One-stop portal for Lition Mainnet with all relevant information:

The Lition Block Explorer that allows for precise monitoring of the protocol state for every sidechain:

Our open-sourced Smart Contract that is responsible to synchronize and anchor sidechains into the main network:

Our open-sourced network node needed to operate and manage a Lition blockchain as sidechain:

Our Sidechain Manager that allows you to register your own sidechain or interact with an existing one:

Bug Bounty Program

As shortly mentioned above, a bug bounty program will take place for the duration of the next 10 days. We firmly believe that foreign coders with new perspectives can potentially provide tremendous value to our code.

“Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it. — Brian W. Kernighan”

As we strive to deliver the best tech we possibly can, we feel responsible to consider feedback or criticism on our code from foreign coders and are therefore welcoming anybody to participate in our bug bounty program. The to be attained rewards are based on the identified bug severity and structured as follows:

1. Low severity level: up to $250 USD reward

2. Medium severity level, like access to staked tokens: up to $500 USD reward

3. High severity level, like manipulation of commercial data within a sidechain: up to $1000 USD reward

During the bug bounty period, all bug bounty contributions are to be mailed to: [email protected]. In case of the same bug being reported by different persons, only the first received reporter of the bug will be eligible for the bounty.

Lition reserves the right to cancel or amend this campaign at its sole discretion.

Protocol Launch Celebration @ SAP Data Space

The protocol launch is a big milestone on our roadmap and deserves to be celebrated. We are therefore hosting a public event for the community at the SAP Data Space in Berlin at the 10th of October starting from 19:00 CEST. You can expect drinks, food and awesome presentations about the Lition protocol.

More precisely, we will be discussing some of these exciting features:

  • Explanation and description of the Lition blockchain solution
  • Migration to the Ethereum Mainnet
  • Start of staking using ERC-20 LIT tokens
  • Presentation and live demo of the energy use case

For anybody that is interested in attending, please make sure to register yourself through clicking on the link below:

See you there!
